"A Gateway of Hope" | My Takeaway From Today's "She Read's Truth"

"A Gateway of Hope" | My Takeaway From Today's "She Read's Truth"

This year has not started off on the best foot for me. From day 1 (literally, not figuratively) I have experienced trial after trial. It seems as though everything I had carefully and perfectly and intentionally planned is one by one falling apart. This is the place in my life that I am known to run. My whole life, I have been a "runner" (now that on IS figurative! ha!). As soon as a trial faces my way, I fight until I am weak and then I run.

I can't tell you how many people have said that to me. This has cost me many cherished relationships in the past...

Recently, someone reached out to me regarding my process of finding self-forgiveness during my time of becoming an unwed mother.... (read more)

Faith Without Works Is Dead

"14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
-James 2:14-17

Carlen and Andrew| A 2015 Engagement Re-Envisioned

Carlen and Andrew| A 2015 Engagement Re-Envisioned

It's almost been two years to the date since I first met Carlen & Andrew. I happened to meet someone from 5 Rivers today and it made me think back to this incredible engagement session on the Delta River. I met up with Carlen and Andrew early in the morning, we loaded up in two canoes, and we paddled out to these gorgeous fields of Lotus flowers. Carlen had just lost her father and the Lotus flowers became a symbol of hope- as they are one of the only species of flowers to be able to grow in the muck.

Finding The Perfect Vendors For Your Wedding | AWP EDUCATION

I was recently talking with a potential client about her wedding vendors and I said something to her that I think a lot of brides can benefit from. We were discussing "How To Find The PERFECT Vendors For You" and so I am going to share with you all some of my advice on this topic.

First, in order to find the BEST vendors FOR YOU, you have to know what you want from them. Because my specialty is in Photography, I will use 'looking for a photographer' as my example- but know that this applies to most wedding vendors across the board.

"For FOURTY YEARS these two have been a team of encouragers and a beacon of hope, love, and most importantly, Christ to all who meet them. They take on the challenge of leading hundreds of college students, teaching them, loving them, and protecting them (Mrs. Sandra is packing- y'all) and all along they find ways to only grow closer together. Samantha + Justin | Engaged | The Lange Farm

I need to start this by telling you how excited I am to finally being able to catch up with work and share this blog. I absolutely adore these photos and this couple and I know that you all will too!

A while back, in April to be exact, I had the insane pleasure of putting together a styled bridal shoot and a re-envisioned wedding shoot with some good friends, family, and a team of phenomenal vendors at one of my favorite venues to date- The Lange Farms. Those shoots were both picked up for publications by some of the best publishers in our local area (in fact- the wedding couple's images still haven't been blogged here because they are currently being prepared for publication by Gulf Coast Bride and Southern Bride!) and because of those publications, Samantha saw my work and fell in love with it.... Break The Lie of Perfection | Giving Grace | Personal Post

I have been thinking a lot lately about the trials that come with parenthood. Specifically, being a parent of a toddler. Even more specifically, the parent of a toddler who acts like she is a mix of a 16 year old and a Tasmanian Devil all together. It's a whirlwind for sure.

This was going to be a post about my new office...

This was going to be a post about my new office. A post with pretty photos documenting this new fun area I get to have all to myself. This space I have dreamt of for seemingly a lifetime.

Oh, don't worry- there will still be all the pretty photos of some of my new space. Duh. BUT- That is not shaping up to be the actual story within this post.

Instead, I am going to highlight that little quote in my photo up there ^...

Raw Authenticity- The Comparison Trap

I am debating whether to post this or not. To be honest- I don't know where this post is headed or what all will be revealed. All I know is that I feel the need to write-so here I am...
