It’s been a while since I have gotten to find the time to blog my sessions. Between picking up a job in webdesign and attempting to maintain my crazy crew here— I just haven’t had the time or energy to get to sit down and share my wonderful experiences I have had lately & I hate that so I am coming back stronger than ever!
As I sit here in the Chicago Midway Airport waiting for my flight after a fast paced and emotion filled weekend, I am left thinking about my time here as I watched my life-long best friend marry the man that will be her new life-long best friend.
My emotions and thoughts are going in a hundred different directions as I remember the events that brought Marcy and I together, the joys and struggles we have faced together throughout our lives, and watching her embracing her new found life with Anton.
Marcy and I met sometime around 1999-2000. One of my very first memories of her was at our home church in Okeechobee, Florida …. READ MORE…
Brittany & Trey decided to get married at the beautiful & historic Bragg-Mitchell Mansion in Mobile, Alabama. The Greek Revival home is donned with white washed wood, large windows with natural light pouring in, huge old oaks surrounding the property, and a gorgeous driveway lined with azaleas, roses, and crepe myrtles.
Brittany and her bridesmaids arrived the afternoon of the 23rd of February and began putting the final touches of their hair and make up in place and helped Brittany prepare for her first look with her soon-to-be husband, Trey.
Brittany's mother and sister, Jessica, helped Brittany step into her gown. Brittany, in her gown standing in the beautiful white light pouring into the upper room at the Bragg, was nothing short of radiant.
Bailey + Nick | December 16th, 2017
I walked into the Lee House in Downtown Pensacola with my second shooter and gear in hand and expected to find a house full of hustle and bustle. When we entered we were greeted by the sweetest staff and directed to a room upstairs where we would find Bailey with her mom and bridesmaids JAMMING out to an early 2000's station on Pandora and getting their hair and make up done. Bailey was so incredibly calm and you could tell instantly that this day was going to be one for the books.
When Devon proposed to Haley, they had already been dating for quite a few years and knew that they wanted to do something different from the norm. They decided to book a cruise with some of their closest family and friends and say “I Do” while touring the Caribbean! Because of this, they were limited on their options for photography and decided that they would find a gorgeous venue back home, book a special day to dress back up in their wedding attire, and have their wedding portraits taken separately from their Cruise Wedding...(read more)
I am not sure if words can describe the love and excitement I have for this precious family. I have not had the pleasure of knowing them for a long time, but the short time I have has been a blessing. They are the type of people that make you feel like you have been best friends for life and you can't help but want to spend more time with them... (read more)
Bailey & her mom, Cynthia, contacted me a few months ago looking for a photographer for her December wedding. We decided to meet for coffee and talk through details and get to know one another and there was that instant "click". Bailey and I joke that we are essentially the same person... (although her make up skill are WAY better than mine!) We connected over the mutual experience of being a "Preacher's Kid" (PK) and our love for 90's alt. music and Michael Buble. More importantly though, we discussed the wedding and her relationship with Nick. ...
It's almost been two years to the date since I first met Carlen & Andrew. I happened to meet someone from 5 Rivers today and it made me think back to this incredible engagement session on the Delta River. I met up with Carlen and Andrew early in the morning, we loaded up in two canoes, and we paddled out to these gorgeous fields of Lotus flowers. Carlen had just lost her father and the Lotus flowers became a symbol of hope- as they are one of the only species of flowers to be able to grow in the muck.
"For FOURTY YEARS these two have been a team of encouragers and a beacon of hope, love, and most importantly, Christ to all who meet them. They take on the challenge of leading hundreds of college students, teaching them, loving them, and protecting them (Mrs. Sandra is packing- y'all) and all along they find ways to only grow closer together. I need to start this by telling you how excited I am to finally being able to catch up with work and share this blog. I absolutely adore these photos and this couple and I know that you all will too!
A while back, in April to be exact, I had the insane pleasure of putting together a styled bridal shoot and a re-envisioned wedding shoot with some good friends, family, and a team of phenomenal vendors at one of my favorite venues to date- The Lange Farms. Those shoots were both picked up for publications by some of the best publishers in our local area (in fact- the wedding couple's images still haven't been blogged here because they are currently being prepared for publication by Gulf Coast Bride and Southern Bride!) and because of those publications, Samantha saw my work and fell in love with it.... Joyful laughs, close friends and family, details colored in soft blues, pinks, and creams... that is what filled the First Baptist Church of Jackson, Alabama on the third of June. I love when brides have attention for detail and when your family gets to be a part of making those details pop it becomes all the more special.
You guys- I am going to go full-blown white girl on you. I seriously CAN'T EVEN with these! I am so thankful for clients who are willing to talk to me about the things that are important to them and allow me to take those visions and bring them to life.
Brittany told me right off the bat that she knew that she wanted a garden scene for her engagement photos with her soon-to-be hubby, Trey. The only problem was, we have limited locations that offer that kind of backdrop locally and she really wanted something different. So- I suggested that we try venturing out and exploring a new place and she was on board!
