Don't let it fool you...

Social media is the bomb.com at making lives look far more "perfect" than they seem. Often times my friends will make comments like "You're making us look bad..." or "You are seriously superwoman." to which I always remind them that they're only seeing the photos that make it to social media. They don't see the bags under my eyes, the constant influx of diapers laying around my home, the clothes that have been on the floor for three weeks that I *swear* I am putting up today. They don't see the dirty dishes or me walking the trash can to the road in my pajamas with no shame for my unmade self. They don't see how messy my car is on the way to all of my weddings or smell the stink of fast food because I am too busy or lazy (probably lazy) to cook every day...

The reason that I am even writing this is simple- Chloe. I went to take some photos of her today to share with you all because she is actually clean, with well kept hair, in a pretty white dress with a dusty blue bow. It sounds (and looks) beautiful. HOWEVER. The whole reason she even looks like that is because this morning when she came running out of her room, she was in just her diaper that during the night had clearly had a blowout and she was covered in poop from head to toe- with a huge smile on her face. I rapidly removed the diaper and started her bath. I looked fear in the face and walked in her bedroom. Her bed, pillow, bed rails.... everything. SMEARED. WITH. POOP. She had to have been playing in it. (Barf.) If you knew me back in school- highschool OR college- you would know that I have a huge aversion to cleaning things like toilets and showers. It just grosses me out to the point of vomit. Yet, here I am in the throws of motherhood cleaning poop off of my two-year old's bed with nothing but Clorox wipes and my bare hands.

Ugh.

All of this to say-

Never compare yourself to what you see on social media. What your'e seeing may have just been covered in poop.

note: I didn't get photos of the mess but I did manage to get some tantrum shots....
